Mother's Day & Paper Dresses!

Mother's day...what a busy and fun weekend that was! On the Saturday we had a Giant yard sale at our house to raise some money for our newly renovated church nursery! We happily made over $1100.00! These funds will go to purchasing new toys and updated items! The Sale was alot of fun, we sold all kinds of "treasures" as well as hanging baskets, fresh flowers, baked goods, lemonade stand, and coffee and cupcakes! Over 30 people from our church donated used items, flowers and baked goods. It was well worth our efforts!

On Sunday we had family over for lunch, and enjoyed a neice's baptism in the afternoon! Blessing abound! We also got to use our new nursery for the first time last Sunday, which is esspecially exciting for myself and the committee members as we see it come to completion!

I was admittedly late with my mother's day cards (busy weekend:)) But when I seen these origami dresses on line, I thought they would make a cute card.  I made these out of 6'' square paper.

I added the apron strings to make it mom-ish:)

Here's the link to make your own, not difficult but you'll have to watch the you tube video unless you're a genius! Who thinks of how to fold paper into real objects?origami dress

  2. Those cards are adorable! I'm definitely going to try them :) Thanks for sharing.

That's awesome about your garage sale too! Once we build our new church (if it ever happens, that is!) I should organize something like that! We could use some new toys in our nursery.
